Spread of MTT

Following the news about the delivery of the steam generator to the Lugovskoye Field, it was widely assumed that it comprised the entire equipment package required for the multifluid thermal technology (MTT). In fact, it is merely one component of a significantly more complex engineering system.

The MTT spread consists of two main parts:

  • Surface equipment package
  • Downhole equipment package

While the steam generator was actually manufactured in China, it was produced to meet the technical specifications of the “Oil Resource” Scientific & Engineering Center (SEC). As such, it is a core element of the surface facilities, rather than the entire technology.

To implement the project, a significant portion of the equipment was developed and manufactured in cooperation with the Russian manufacturers according to the technical specifications of the Oil Resource SEC. Specifically, a unique downhole equipment package was created for the project to ensure the delivery of the heat transfer fluid to the bottomhole and the operation of the technology under the conditions of Russian fields.

In addition, certain engineering solutions included in the MTT spread are currently undergoing the patenting process and constitute part of the company's intellectual property. For this reason, we do not disclose the full composition of the complex or all of its technical features.

Thus, the steam generator is an important part of the MTT spread, but the technology itself is not driven by a single device. Instead, it is built upon a complex of world-class engineering solutions, equipment, and manufacturing competencies, a significant portion of which has been implemented in Russia. It is this precise approach that enables the development of a technology fully adapted to Russian oilfields and operating conditions.
