On September 16, the TNF Industrial and Energy Forum hosted the closed-door discussion on the development of the multifluid thermal technology (MTT). It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Energy, major vertically integrated oil companies including Gazprom Neft and Surgutneftegaz, the management of Kirillitsa Group of Companies (including "Oil Resource" Oil Company) as well as equipment manufacturers and employees of scientific institutions involved in the development of hard-to-recover oil reserves (HTR).

The topic of the meeting was the contribution of MTT to the Energy Strategy of the Russian Federation until 2050 and the degree of readiness of the relevant equipment and oilfield service. The participants discussed plans for the implementation of industry-specific pilot tests (PTs).

MTT is a promising technology for the development of hard-to-recover oil reserves which is being developed by the Scientific and Technological Center within Kirillitsa Group of Companies. The technology has successfully passed laboratory tests and obtained a positive assessment after the implementation of hydrodynamic and economic modeling. The next stage is the possibility of creating an industry-specific methodology for the use of MTT in fields.
